Flexible Lamina Couplings
Flexible lamina couplings connect driving and driven shafts to transmit torque at the same nominal rotational speed.
Safety and reliability are fundamental to high-speed turbomachinery. Attention to every design detail and careful material selection ensure outstanding coupling performance in the most demanding applications.
Standard laminas (flexible elements) are made of AISI 301 stainless steel, combining high strength with overall corrosion resistance. In high-temperature and corrosive environments, alternative materials such as Inconel® or specially coated diaphragms are used.
Flexible lamina couplings transmit torque while accommodating specified angular, axial and parallel shaft misalignment. Additional functions, such as torque limitation, require a specifically designed coupling arrangement.
